Musée Picasso (Antibes)

7:32 PM

Antibes, as described on the internet is a Mediterranean resort on the Cote d'Azur located between Cannes and Nice. Having grown up in the Philippines, i had a very different interpretation of what resort meant. In my head, i was thinking little hotels stationed along the coast with spas and whatnot. Anyway, seeing the photos on the internet and finding out that there's a museum that housed the greatest Picasso collection. The place was formerly a fortress of the Grimaldi Family, Château Grimaldi. Sometime in 1946 it became the artist's home. A lot of his work was donated, hence the name.

Doesn't this doorway have a "secret garden" feel? Curious to see where it leads?

When i was much younger, i had a fascination with abstract art and making a trip to this museum may rekindle that flame. It did not disappoint. I was enthralled. I wanted to stay there all day. It's a very chill place. I would've loved to linger and read a good book. Kind of like this girl.

Although i realize now that i may have spent too much time in the museum. I missed out on exploring more of the town. By the time i was out of the museum, it was time to move on to the next location. Nonetheless, i'm happy it was part of the itinerary. Just like Eze, it was beautiful.
