SEPANX: Why do people leave nga ba?

8:00 PM

One afternoon i was browsing Spotify to find the perfect playlist to accompany me while i work. I found "#SEPANX" Described as "Songs that say... why did you have to go?" I have heard of the term before. Never fully understood it. So i pressed play.

A disclaimer though... this is not the perfect playlist for that afternoon. LOL. Relatable? Yes. But not my anthem for that afternoon. Instead, it inspired me to write this. I write this not because i am an expert on the subject but because i've come to realize a few things and i thought maybe someone could benefit from it. So. Here. We. Go.

Why do people leave nga ba?

I could tell you a hundred reasons (that's an exaggeration) but let's keep this short. The sad truth is NOTHING LASTS FOREVER.

Some are meant to stay. Some are not. And that's okay. But don't feel helpless. Embrace it.
Remember that you have the last say on who you want in your life or not. You have a choice.
Realize that the people you choose to be a part of your life has a role to play. Let them. They might love you. They might not. They might hurt you. They probably will. But remember that you need the bad so you can appreciate the good in your life.

So what do you do?

LOVE.

Love not because he/she makes you feel good about yourself. Love because you want them to feel good about themselves. Love not because it is expected of you. Love because you CHOOSE to.

I refer you to this bible passage:

"4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

I'm not the most religious person in the world and God knows i'm not perfect. Heck everyone knows that. But i try my best to live by this. Most of the time. I am only human after all. But choosing to love (this kind of love), helps you realize why you are with that person in the first place specially when he/she is at their worst or when everything seem to go wrong. It only lasts until both of you decide it shouldn't.

The fact of the matter is - relationships (good or bad) are meant to mold you into the person you want to be. The real question is not why they left. The real question is why they were in your life to begin with.
